Champions League Quarter Finals – Who’s the favourite for the UCL title?
The Champions League quarter-final is here and all eight clubs played the first of two legs to get into the semis on April 11 and April 12. Inter Milan won 2-0 at Benfica, Bayern Munich lost 3-0 at Man City, Napoli lost 1-0 at AC Milan and Chelsea lost 2-0 at Real Madrid.
The second legs will be played on April 18 and April 19 and Odds To Bet On has taken a look at the top-four favourites with Bet 365 to go all the way.
Man City (10/11 to win Champions League)
Pep Guardiola’s side is big favourites to finally win the Champions League this season as they are unbeaten in nine European games with 25 goals scored and only three goals conceded.
City took four points off Borussia Dortmund in the group stages and comfortably beat Bayern in the quarter-final first leg, so they’ll be expected to at least make the final four.
The Sky Blues could face the winner of Chelsea/Real Madrid which will be another big test. But after seeing how they dispatched the German champions, Guardiola’s men are right to be favourites.
Real Madrid (9/2 to win Champions League)
City are favourites to win but Real Madrid deserves to be second despite their poor league form. Los Blancos are not only the defending champions of Europe, they’ve won the competition five times in the last nine years.
Real are second in La Liga and 13 points adrift of leaders Barcelona, so they’ve not been consistent domestically. And in the Champions League group stages, Carlo Ancelotti’s men dropped points in two of their three away games, so they are fallible.
But after dispatching of Liverpool in the last-16 and beating Chelsea in the quarter-final first leg, Real will fancy their chances of going all the way. Los Blancos have a real affinity with this competition and have a crown to defend.
Inter (7/1 to win Champions League)
The Nerazurri are only fifth in Serie A while coming off the back of three defeats from their last four league games, but they dispatched of Benfica in Portugal and should get the job done in Italy next week.
Inter’s domestic form has been poor all season, but they’ve been consistent in Europe, losing only to Bayern Munich in 2022/23. They took four points off Barcelona in the group stages and have kept clean sheets in four of their last five Champions League outings, so they’re a force to be reckoned with.
Victory over Benfica will pit them against the winner of AC Milan/Napoli, so it could be an all-Serie A affair in the semis.
Napoli (7/1 to win Champions League)
Napoli lost their quarter-final first leg clash with AC Milan but are favourites to overcome the Rossoneri in the second leg to reach the semis despite losing twice to Milan in three meetings this season.
Napoli are 16 points clear atop of Serie A and would fancy their chances against Inter or Benfica in the Champions League semis, but the bookies don’t believe they’ll win if they made the final. That’s despite five wins from six group games, beating Liverpool 4-1 and Ajax 6-1 early on.
Luciano Spalletti’s still men have a job to do against Milan in the second leg first, however, so they can’t think too far ahead. But they have an easier run to the final than City and Real, so this is a big opportunity to get to the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.
