Friday fixtures across Europe

Odds To Bet On covers the five big European leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1), so this week we’ve compiled all their fixtures from Friday, April 21 into one preview, giving you the best potential returns from Oddschecker.

Arsenal v Southampton (Premier League)

Arsenal are four points clear atop of the Premier League but have been held to a draw in their last two games, so they come into Friday’s meeting with Southampton a little fragile.

The Gunners are still unbeaten in nine games and boast four consecutive home wins, so they will fancy their chances against a Southampton side sitting 19 places and 51 points lower than them in the table.

As for the rock-bottom Saints, Ruben Selles’ men have lost three on the bounce in the league and haven’t won in six games. Away from home, Southampton have lost three of their previous five, failing to score four times, so it’s hard to see them pulling off a shock.

Arsenal are 1/5 to win with Bet 365, Arsenal & Southampton are 6/1 to draw with Betfair, and Southampton are 14/1 to win with Coral.

Espanyol v Cadiz (La Liga)

Espanyol are 19th in the table and coming off the back of six consecutive defeats, so it’s hard to see them turning things around against Cadiz, even with home advantage.

Periquitos have lost three of their last four games at the RCDE Stadium and face a 16th-placed Cadiz side that have picked up five points from their last three games away from home, so Friday’s clash might favour the visitors.

Cadiz overall have lost only two games in their last seven, winning two and drawing three, so they shouldn’t be ruled out. Espanyol are 19/20 to win with Betway, Espanyol and Cadiz are 49/20 to draw with Bet UK, and Cadiz are 16/5 to win Unibet.

Augsburg v VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga)

Friday’s meeting between Augsburg and Stuttgart could play a major role in which side stays up and which side goes down in the Bundesliga. Augsburg are five points and two places above the relegation zone. They’re winless in four games and are coming off the back of consecutive defeats.

Stuttgart are two places and three points adrift of safety, but they won their last game to end their own four-match winless streak. Augsburg boast four wins and a draw from their last six home games while Stuttgart have lost eight of their last 11 away outings, so the formbook suggests this meeting could go the way of the hosts.

Augsburg are 21/10 to win with QuinBet, Augsburg and Stuttgart are 28/11 to draw with 10Bet, and Stuttgart are 13/10 to win with VBet.

Verona v Bologna (Serie A)

Verona are major underdogs ahead of their meeting with Bologna as they’re 10 places and 21 points worse off in the Serie A table. The hosts are in the relegation zone with only one win in eight games, so they aren’t fancied to get a result on Friday.

Bologna are coming off the back of two wins and three draws in their last five games and have lost just one of their previous six away outings, so they’ll fancy their chances against a Verona side with the third-most home defeats in the league.

Verona are 9/5 to win with Matchbook, Verona and Bologna are 43/20 to draw with Unibet, and Bologna are 13/8 to win with Betway.

Angers v Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1)

Bottom hosts top in Friday’s clash between Angers and Paris Saint-Germain, with 19 places separating the two clubs. Angers prop up Ligue 1 but have lost only one of their last three games. And unfortunately, they still have the worst home record in the division, even after winning and drawing in their previous two.

PSG are eight points clear at the top and are coming off the back of six wins from their last eight games. They boast three consecutive away wins ahead of Friday’s meeting at the Raymond Kopa Stadium, so it’s little surprise the bookmakers fancy the visitors getting all three points.

Angers are 9/1 to win with Bet 365, Angers and PSG are 9/2 to draw with BetVictor, PSG are 2/7 to win with Bet 365.
